Man charged in fatal wreck
Seven months after a speed- and alcohol-induced car crash killed an Annapolis man, the 28-year-old driver has been charged with auto manslaughter, Anne Arundel County prosecutors said yesterday. Timothy Lee Jones, a resident of Annapolis, was charged June 24 in the death of his passenger and roommate, Delonte Marvin Brooks, 22, the state's attorney's office said. Jones was arrested on a warrant Thursday. Jones was driving a 2003 BMW Nov. 9 at high speed, police said, when he clipped a 2001 Chevy Tahoe and crashed into a pole in the 1900 block of West St. The driver of the Tahoe was not injured. Jones faces charges of negligent manslaughter by auto, operating an automobile while under the influence of alcohol, reckless driving and other offenses.
