Central Baltimore
Shootings Two men were standing outside a car parked in the first block of E. North Ave. about 3 a.m. yesterday eating food from a nearby carryout when a man exited the 1800 block of Lovegrove St. and began firing a handgun. One man, 30, was shot in the right arm and the other, 27, was shot in the upper body and left foot. Both victims were taken by ambulances to Maryland Shock Trauma Center and were expected to survive. There was no arrest.

Northeastern Baltimore
Shooting A police officer was patrolling in the 3000 block of W. Garrison Ave. about 9 p.m. Saturday when he observed two men standing next to a car who appeared to need help. When the officer observed that one man had been shot in the upper left leg, he requested an ambulance, which took the wounded man to Sinai Hospital. The second man was arrested and charged with possession of 28 plastic bags of suspected marijuana. The names of both men were not released. An investigation revealed that the shooting occurred in the 1200 block of Havenwood Road and that details of that shooting were not available.

Eastern Baltimore
Drug arrest Officer Ezekiel Abdi was driving in the 800 block of N. Bradford St. about 6:20 p.m. Saturday when he observed what appeared to be drug activity among several males. When he stopped his patrol car, the males fled, but the officer was able to detain two of them. Arrested and charged with possession of heroin was Steven Frock, 57, of the 600 block of Shore Drive in Edgewater, Anne Arundel County. The second suspect, 46, attempted to swallow a small plastic bag containing suspected heroin, but the officer was able to retrieve it. That suspect was treated at Johns Hopkins Hospital for minor injuries, and drug charges against him were pending an investigation.

Southeastern Baltimore
Church burglary Police were seeking whoever broke into St. Patrick's Catholic Church in the 300 block of S. Broadway between Oct. 1 and Friday through a rear door and stole an undisclosed sum of money from a poor box and shattered a stained glass window entitled "Lord of Miracles." The window was valued at $3,000. Also stolen was a bass guitar and other property. Anyone with information is asked to call the district at 410-396-2422.

Robbery Shortly after a male employee of IHOP was offered a ride by a male motorist from West Pratt and South Pulaski streets about 8 a.m. Saturday, he was driven to the 1300 block of Dundalk Ave., where the motorist pulled out a handgun and robbed the passenger of $230 and a bag containing his work uniform.

Robbery A woman, 22, was walking toward a bus stop in the 200 block of Ballou Court in the Perkins Homes about 6:30 a.m. Friday when she was assaulted by three young males who threw her to the ground and robbed her of $20.

Northern Baltimore
Robbery A gunman entered Baltimore Halal Meat & Groceries in the 2000 block of N. Charles St. about 11:30 a.m. Saturday and forced an employee to give him the contents of a cash register. The gunman fled with an undisclosed sum.



Baltimore Co. – Essex
Assault Police were seeking whoever drove past a house in the 1000 block of Cord St. about 1 a.m. Saturday and fired several shots, one of which struck the dwelling. No injuries were reported.

Burglary Someone broke into a shed in the first block of Contact Court in Middle River between Oct. 1 and Friday and stole between 40 and 50 pounds of scrap copper. The copper was valued at $100.

Baltimore Co.- Woodlawn
Burglary Someone entered the back yard of a house in the 2100 block of Meadow View Road between Sept. 8 and Friday and stole a 40-foot aluminum ladder valued at $300.
