Two wanted in teens' torture

Baltimore police have issued warrants for two men in connection with the kidnapping and torture of two teenagers May 2 in Northeast Baltimore.

Kavon Roberts, 25, of the 2000 block of Druid Park Drive and William E. Johnson, 21, of the 2500 block of Calverton Heights Ave. are charged in warrants with kidnapping, first-degree assault, false imprisonment, various sex offenses and related charges, police say.

Last month, police said that two 16-year-olds were abducted by four men, who were armed and had their faces covered. The teens were taken to a house, beaten, cut and burned, while being questioned about a PlayStation video game, police said at the time. The teens were later given clothes and cab fare, and dropped off, police said.

Another man, Christopher Johnson, 21, of the 5600 block of McClean Blvd., was arrested in the case last month and is scheduled for a jury trial Aug. 8.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Roberts or William Johnson is asked to call the Warrant Apprehension Task Force at 410-637-8970.
