Bomb found in Ocean City
Ocean City police said officers found an improvised explosive device in a car during a traffic stop yesterday. No one was injured.
Police said the grenade-shaped bomb was wrapped in black tape with a fuse attached to one end.
The city fire marshal's bomb squad removed the device from the car at 11:20 a.m. and rendered it safe. The stop was near Seventh Street and Baltimore Avenue.
Police arrested Roger Shipley, 24, of Carlisle, Pa., and Jeremiah Spelas, 25, of Harrisburg, Pa. They are charged with drug, alcohol and weapons offenses. Police said marijuana and alcohol were in the car.
