Palin family appears strong, well-prepared

The writer of the letter "Palin's choices betray family values precepts" (Sept. 3) believes that Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin should be home dealing with a pregnant daughter and a special-needs child, not out on the campaign trail. But Mrs. Palin's strong values are exactly why she is on the campaign trail. They are why she ran for mayor of her hometown and for governor of Alaska.

Is the letter writer trying to tell me that mothers with high-powered careers should quit their jobs and go home to the kitchen?

I thought that the women's liberation movement was about creating strong, confident, take-charge women who would be men's total equal in society.

The Palin family looks very strong, united and ready for this next chapter of their lives.
