Venus beats Serena for title
Venus Williams raises the trophy after beating sister Serena 7-5, 6-4 to win her fifth Wimbledon championship and seventh career Grand Slam title. It was Venus' first victory over Serena in a Grand Slam final since the 2001 U.S. Open, and it evened their career head-to-head record at 8-8. The Williams sisters teamed up to win the doubles title later in the day.
