NEXT WEEKEND
• Who: Cal Ripken Jr. and Tony Gwynn are inducted. In addition,
Rick Hummel will receive the J.G. Taylor Spink Award for baseball
writing and Denny Matthews will get the Ford C. Frick Award for
broadcasting.
• When: Next Sunday, 1:30 p.m.
• Where: Cooperstown, N.Y., on the grounds of the Clark Sports
Center at 124 Susquehanna Ave., a mile south of the Hall of Fame.
• Cost: Seating free and unlimited. A blanket or lawn chair is
recommended.
• TV: 1:30-4:30 p.m. next Sunday, ESPN Classic (taped coverage,
8-9 p.m. Monday, ESPN2)
OTHER EVENTS
• Tuesday: Hall of Fame sendoff, Camden Yards, before Orioles'
7:05 p.m. game. Brooks Robinson, Eddie Murray, Earl Weaver and
Robin Roberts will attend, and Ripken will address the crowd. The
Orioles are giving away 25,000 Ripken bobblehead dolls.
• Friday, 8:30 a.m.: Play Ball with Ozzie Smith and Special Guests.
At Doubleday Field. $750 for museum members; $1,000 for nonmembers.
• Friday, 1:30 p.m.: Legends for Youth Skills Clinic. At Doubleday
Field. Free. Registration required.
• Saturday, 9 a.m.: Book signing with ESPN analyst and former Sun
reporter Tim Kurkjian. At Hall of Fame. Free.
• Saturday, 2 p.m.: Aberdeen IronBirds vs. Oneonta Tigers. At
Doubleday Field. Free.
• Saturday, 7:30 p.m.: Red carpet arrivals of Hall of Famers. At Hall
of Fame. Free.
• July 30, 10:30 a.m.: Legends of the
Game: Cal Ripken Jr. and Tony Gwynn.

members only. $10 for adult members;
children 12 and under, $5.
• Museum hours: Friday, 9 a.m.-10p.m.;
