Q&A -- Stacy Keibler

If you go see the sports parody The Comebacks, you might not want to take a bathroom break during the halftime show. If you do, you'll miss Rosedale native Stacy Keibler performing on the big screen. The former Dancing with the Stars competitor, pro wrestler and Ravens cheerleader is part of the halftime entertainment in the movie, which opened yesterday and is to sports what the Scary Movie franchise is to horror films.

The Sun caught up with Keibler, 28, this week for a telephone interview from Los Angeles.

What can you tell us about your role in The Comebacks?

I'm the halftime entertainment at a big football game in a very small town. I'm part of this all-American family and I play the all-American mom. I sing and dance, but it's really quick. So, don't blink (laughs).

Do you have a favorite sports movie?

I love Rudy. It's one of those movies that, if it's on TV, I always have to sit down and watch it.

You had recurring roles this past season on What About Brian and George Lopez. What are you working on now?

I'm actually not working on anything right now. I renegotiated my deal with ABC, so I have another year with them. I heard a rumor that I might be shooting October Road in a few weeks, but I never believe anything until I actually shoot it. At the moment, I'm in two different acting schools - one for comedy and one for drama - and I'm just trying to work on my craft.

What was the best and worst part about being a Ravens cheerleader?

The best part was the rush of being on the field and performing for thousands of fans. The worst part was the pay.

As someone who knows a thing or two about dancing, what are your thoughts on Ray Lewis' dancing skills?

I like to watch Ray dance during pre-game introductions because he is just feeling it out there.

If rapper Master P and ESPN sports personality Kenny Mayne -- two of your Dancing with the Stars cast-mates who didn't exactly wow the judges -- were competing against each other in a dance contest, who would win?

Hmm. Well, I think if Master P actually danced and put some heart into it, he would probably be great. But I just fell in love with Kenny Mayne's personality and enjoyed watching him try his best to dance. I have become friends with him, so I am biased.

I know that you are a big Ravens fan. What are your thoughts on the team this season?

I'm excited about them. It's hard for me out here in L.A. because I have to wake up at like 9 to see the games. I haven't gotten home yet for a game this season, but I think I'm going to at least make it back for the Patriots game [on Dec. 3]. I'm pretty proud of Kyle [Boller]. He's a really close friend of mine and I'm really excited for him. He's stepping up to the plate and you can definitely see that he's maturing.

My next question was going to be: "McNair or Boller?" But I can see you're biased.

I am very biased. There's no question I'd have to pick Boller. He's a great player and a great person.

Do you ever have any sports conflicts with your boyfriend, actor Geoff Stults?

Last year, when the Ravens played Denver on Monday Night Football, I was the only person at this sports bar here with a Ravens jersey -- everyone else had Denver jerseys. There are a lot of Colorado people in L.A. apparently. He's from Colorado, so that was the one time we were like, "My team's better than yours." But I have to say that because Geoff is friends with Kyle as well, Geoff has totally turned into a Ravens fan, and we just have a blast together watching the Ravens. So if they play Denver again, I wonder which team Geoff would root for.

You were actually on the field celebrating with the Ravens in Tampa after they won the Super Bowl in 2001. Where does that rank on the list of cool things that you have done?

Being on the field is one of my favorite experiences. Feeling the confetti fall on me, and all the excitement, was overwhelming. I still have the newspaper that they were giving out with the front page that said "Ravens win."
