    Given the lingering heartbreak imposed by the city's two major-league baseball teams, I recall something Bill Veeck said: "There are only two seasons—winter and baseball." Just as there are those who will be able to replace sorrow with buoyant "It is next year!" expectations come next season, so are there some, given the golfers above, who are able to ignore the pains imposed by winter and just go about life as usual. e It is to these people, and those who would like to be like these people, that this special issue of the Magazine is aimed.
