The Hartford Wolf Pack have been the top affiliate of the New York Rangers since they moved to Connecticut from Binghamton, N.Y., in 1997. They are in the American Hockey League and replaced the Hartford Whalers, who moved to North Carolina at the end of the 1996-97 season, their 18th in the National Hockey League after 12 in the World Hockey Association.
