Ethnic festivals celebrate cultures of Baltimore communities
In addition to HonFest, Artscape and the Maryland Film Festival, Baltimore's summer festival season includes some smaller ethnic festivals. Celebrate the city's diversity, as you taste the food, hear the music and play the games of the many cultures that make up Baltimore's communities.
Here's the schedule for this year's ethnic festivals:
Polish Festival
May 30-June 1 at Patterson Park
Admission: $2-$4, Kids under 12: Free
St. Nicholas Greek Folk Festival
June 5-8 at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church
Admission: Free
LatinoFest
June 21-22 at Patterson Park
Admission: $5, Kids under 12: Free
African American Heritage Festival
June 27-29 at M&T Bank Stadium
Admission: Free
Caribbean Carnival Festival
July 11-13 at Druid Hill Park
Admission: TBD
International Festival
Aug. 2-3 in Poly/Western High School parking lot
Admission: Free
FestAfrica 2008
Aug. 9-10 at Patterson Park
Admission: Donations welcome.
PowWow Native American Festival
Aug. 22-24 at Patterson Park
Admission: Daily - Adults: $6, Seniors/kids (under 12): $4; Weekend - Adults: $15, Seniors/kids (under 12): $10
Ukrainian Festival
Sept. 6-7 at Patterson Park
Admission: TBD
Irish Festival
Sept. 12-13 at Canton Waterfront Park
Admission: Free
Korean American Festival
Sept. 13 at War Memorial Plaza
Admission: Free
Russian Festival
Oct. 17-19 at Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church
Admission: $2 on Saturday and Sunday
