Deal of the week

British Airways "Free" Companion Ticket
What's the deal? Members of British Airways' Executive Club who book a round-trip flight can receive a complimentary companion ticket for their next flight. The free ticket can be used for flights to any destination served by British Airways from North America.

What's the savings? Depending upon your destination and when you go, at least $224. If you're planning, say, a quick business trip this year and would like to take your significant other along on a more leisurely trip next year, this offer makes sense.

What's the catch? You have to be a member of the Executive Club, BA's frequent flier program. Anyone can register for the program, but you must register in advance to making your reservations. Also, the initial flight must be booked and travel completed by Dec. 31. The companion ticket is good for travel Jan. 15-Dec.15 and must be booked by June 30. The Executive Club member and the companion must travel together. And, lastly, since very little is ever "free," the companion is responsible for paying taxes and fees, including fuel surcharges, which can run to several hundred dollars. Other restrictions may apply.
