MAY
CRUISIN' OCEAN CITY -- Convention Center, 40th Street and the bay, Inlet Parking Lot / 410-798-6304 or specialeventpro.com. 9 a.m.-5 p.m. today-Saturday and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday. A car show featuring hot rods, custom-built models, classics and muscle cars. There will be live entertainment, parades, vendors and more. $10 admission; free for children younger than 14 accompanied by an adult.
JUNE
OCEAN CITY RESTAURANT WEEK -- June 1-8. Participating restaurants will offer a fixed-price, three-course dinner for $30. (Alcohol, gratuity and tax are not included.) For information and menus, go to oceancityrestaurantweek.com.
O.C. AIR SHOW -- Ocean City Municipal Airport with viewing area at 16th Street and the Boardwalk / 410-213-2471. At the June 9 open house, see the aircraft up close. Watch aircraft demos, low-altitude flyovers and aerobatic performances from noon-3 p.m. June 10 and 11.
SANDCASTLE CONTEST -- Carousel Resort Hotel & Condominiums, 118th Street / 410-703-1970. June 14. An instructional showcase will start at 9:30 a.m. The sandcastle-building contest, judged by local celebrities, is 10 a.m.-2:30 p.m. The 3 p.m. award ceremony will feature a choreographed combat exhibition by Medieval Times knights. Admission is free for spectators, but competition fees may apply.
ART'S ALIVE -- Northside Park complex, 127th Street and the bay / 410-250-0125 or ococean.com. 9 a.m.-6 p.m. June 21 and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. June 22. This eighth annual fine art show will feature 100 artists in juried competition in categories including ceramics, drawing, fiber, furniture, glass, printmaking, jewelry, mixed media, painting, photography, sculpture and fine wood. Other art will be on display and for sale.
JULY
4TH OF JULY JAMBOREE IN THE PARK -- Northside Park, 125th Street and the bay / 410-250-0125 or ococean.com. Starts at 5 p.m. July 4; fireworks are at 9:30 p.m. Enjoy a variety of family and child-friendly activities, live performances, food and craft vendors.
CONCERTS ON THE BEACH -- North Division Street and the beach / 410-250-0125 or ococean.com. 8 p.m. Wednesdays, July 9-Aug. 20, and Labor Day weekend, Aug. 30-31. Enjoy weekly performances of different musical acts.
GREEK FESTIVAL -- Convention Center, 40th Street and the bay / 410-524-0990. Noon-11 p.m. July 25-26 and noon-9 p.m. July 27. Enjoy authentic Greek food, live music and dance performances and Greek items for purchase from vendors. Call for fees.
AUGUST
WHITE MARLIN OPEN -- Harbour Island, 14th Street and the bay / 410-289-9229 or whitemarlinopen.com. Aug. 4-8. Competitors in more than 300 boats will try to catch white marlins, blue marlins, wahoos, dolphins, tunas and sharks from 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Spectators can watch weigh-ins from 4 p.m.-9:15 p.m. Entry fee for participants, who must register. Free for spectators.
LABOR DAY WEEKEND ARTS & CRAFTS FESTIVAL -- Convention Center, 40th Street and the bay / 410-250-0125 or ococean.com. 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Aug. 29-31. Arts and crafts vendors will have pottery, garden accessories, glass art, sculptures, candles and more on display and available for purchase.
SEPTEMBER
SUNFEST -- Inlet Parking Lot / 800-551-7328, 800-OC-OCEAN, ococean.com, ticketmaster.com or artleagueofoceancity.org. 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Sept. 18-20 and 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Sept. 21. Ocean City's biggest festival offers live music from acts including the Commodores and Rodney Atkins, arts, crafts, kids' activities, food and more. Free admission; fee for evening headline concerts.
